I'm planning to take up stripping

I mean comics - to allay the nausea of any who know me in real life (although I would be beyond good at it ^_^)

I decided last night to begin penning directions for a potential someone to sketch out a fan-comic of a Batman story. I moved onto character designs, and there's a couple as samplers here, just to see what people think of the art styles / approach.

Here we have the original teaser for a character - it's quite noir and moody, and I think would work well with a little tweaking (I wanted the details obscured for obvious reasons, as the colour scheme / hat are quite big give-aways for the character).

And then there is a brighter, slightly Adam West-style kitsch approach. It seems quite camp, and doesn't really match the style of the story I was making up, but I like the art setting.

Hopefully the cane isn't needed to give away the identity. This image also clearly lacks shadows, highlights etc, but again, these were just meant as mock-ups for someone with actual talent to draw out.

It should be said that I scavenged a lot to make these, although you can't really recognise the individual pieces which I've put below.
